For months local customers eagerly awaited for their reopening, everyone was worried that this small family business will be closed due to the constant change of Lakeshore Avenue and Oakland. After months of trail and error Lakeshore Produce was able to re-open on January 30th 2016.
The reception Terry and her family received was heart warming, every smile they saw, every "we are glad you are still here" they heard brought a tear to their eyes. The Lower Hills neighborhood and Lakeshore Avenue has been a second home to them. Terry watched customers children grow up, and customers watched her children become adults. Terry and her family were arduous that Lakeshore Produce stayed in the neighborhood. Her efforts became worthwhile even though Terry lost half of her inventory due to downsizing, she now has a cleaner and simple facility. Lakeshore Produce now only carry items based on customers request, fresh curry leaves will be one of many specialty Asian items they will continue to carry.
Drop by and visit the family and you will understand why the neighborhood patiently awaited for Lakeshore Produce re-opening.
